South Korea confirms new case of bird flu in a duck farm

Seoul, January 7 (Yonhap) - South Korea confirmed additional cases of infection of bird flu in a duck farm in Jeolla Province, raising fears of an outbreak of epidemic disease spreading fast across the country.

وقالت وزارة الزراعة إن نتيجة الفحوصات التي أجريت على البط في مزرعة في يونغ-آم تبعد حوالي 385 كلم جنوبا عن سيئول ظهرت ايجابية بالنسبة لأنفلونزا الطيور.

The Agriculture Ministry said that the result of tests conducted on ducks on a farm in Young - how far apart are about 385 km south of Seoul appeared positive for bird flu.

وتعتبر حالة الإصابة هذه أول حالة خلال أسبوع واحد من إبلاغ السلطات المعنية عن حالة الإصابة بأنفلونزا الطيور. The case of this is the first case of infection within one week of reporting to competent authorities on the status of bird flu. لقد ظلت كوريا الجنوبية خالية من مرض أنفلونزا الطيور منذ عام 2008، إلا أنها تعرضت يوم 31 ديسمبر لحالتين من الإصابة في تشونان وإلكسان تبعدان جنوبا عن سيئول 90 كلم و230 كلم على التوالي.

South Korea has been free from bird flu since 2008, but she was on Dec. 31 for two cases of infection in Cheonan and Ilexan are far south of Seoul, 90 km and 230 km respectively.

وقال مسئولون في الحجر الصحي إن الفحوصات الميدانية الأولية أكدت على أن البطة في الحالة الأخيرة أصيبت بفيروس H5N1. Officials quarantined the initial field tests confirmed that the duck in the latter case, infected with H5N1. وتم إصدار أمر بإعدام جميع الطيور في المزرعة و84,400 طائرة تتبع لأربع مزارع أخرى داخل قطر 500 متر كأجراء وقائي.

Been issued ordered the execution of all birds on the farm and 84 400 aircraft tracking for four other farms within 500 meters of Qatar as a precaution.
