A social network for Medvedev, Putin and Obama

At the World Economic Forum 2009 has launched a beta version of new social networks WELCOM, which is designed to communicate and exchange information, the world's political leaders. For mere mortals on the site will be a special section where they can see the publicly available information.

January 31, at the World Economic Forum 2009 held in Davos (Switzerland), has officially launched the beta version of World Economic Leaders Community (WELCOM) - a new social network exclusively for the world leaders made in the style of Facebook.

The site, created in collaboration with companies Adobe, AMD, BT, Infosys, Microsoft and Reuters, is intended to ensure that partners and members of the Forum of the world's political and economic elite, with its help could discuss different issues that have traditionally been submitted for consideration at the World Economic forum.

Functional WELCOM allows the Forum to hold videoconferences, share documents and collaborate on them, to hold discussions on various issues in the discussion groups with limited access. Also, a new social network users have access to traditional social networking functions, such as the exchange of personal communications, the publication of personal data, information on education, jobs, etc. The results of the Forum members can be published in a special section of the site, which will be available to the public.
