The spreading of bird flu (avian influenza -- AI) from one area to the other area happened quickly. So was needed by the fast response also from the community and government apparatus. If the delay of the handling happening, the case of bird flu was increasingly wide and was not controlled. Therefore, was needed by an information system that could shorten the distance hindrance, time, and even the bureaucracy to get the response as quickly as possible. Kurniadi from the Network of Radio of Komunitas Lampung (JRKL) in his release stated the information system that will be developed enabled the involvement of many sides, the community, the community's radio (rakom), and his network, the regional government, and NGO or the Non-Governmental Organization.
Each side will have their respective role to support the optimisation of the information system that was developed. This information system was hoped for not only could help in the matter reporting of the case happened, but was expected to be able to be useful to prevent and deal with the case of bird flu by involving the community. According to him, network between the community's radio, the community, the official of the health, and the Service of Kesehatan was expected to be able to help the spreading of information that was exact about AI in the community and pushed the involvement of the community in the prevention and the control of the spreading of the illness in the Lampung Province.
The community's service, especially the activity of health counselling and preceptive the emergency, could be carried out through the media of the community's radio. Usually the message of the health that was sent the community's radio was accepted well the community. Information and the community's knowledge about AI still were very limited because of this information delivery to the community and information that were met by the community evidently was not yet maximal. So that the program could more be successful very necessary the tight intervention in the low level so as to be needed jejaring that was strong. So the Health Service must make a partnership activity with the community's radio.
The training of the strengthening of this media was opened officially Section Head Health of the Lampung Province Dr. Relliyani R., M.Kes. The training joined the community's 11 radios that were combined in the Network of Radio of Community Lampung (JRKL), that is Community Budaya Radio (K-Bi) the Metro City, Suara Rakyat Jojog Kabupaten Lampung East, Gema Lestari, Swara Laot, Angkasa and the OASIS from the Pesawaran Regency, Bina Tani and the Petani Voice from Lampung West, Bimantara from Lampung Center/Middle, Arkila from the Tanggamus Regency. The activity took place from 19 -- on November 24 2008 in the Villa Hotel, Candi Mas -- Branti, Lampung Selatan. Participants from the Service of Health Lampung, Dinas Infokom and the non-Governmental Organization, Institute Karya Bhakti Banda Lampung.
