Indonesia Confirmed Cases 2011

This is my personal list of confirmed cases for the year 2011. You will find it located on the right side-bar for easy reference.


Sulawesi

Suspected 11 People – Family and In-Laws

From: West Kotamobagu Subdistrict, Gagagoman Village.

Celebration included people from: East Kotamobagu Subdistrict, Lorong Kembang Gogagoman Village.

Hospital: RSUP Kandou

Recon: Regional Public Hosp. Datuk Binangkang in Kotamobagu City

Adm: 9/3 (Saturday)

Notes: Slaughtered chicken on 8/30. Ate them on 8/31. First Sym: 9/3. Adm: 9/3.

Anwar Mamonto, known as War (58 ), who is a chicken trader in Gogagoman Village, West Kotamobagu Subdistrict, had one of his chickens die on Monday, 8/30. He thought it was a normal occurrence. The same day, the family butchered two chickens in preparation for the Hari Raya feast, part of the Lebaran celebration that was to take place the next day.

On Tuesday, 8/31, War and his wife, NM/Nur (54), celebrated the holiday with family members from Kotobangon Village, East Kotamobagu Subdistrict. They included the eldest son of War, AM/Af (31), his pregnant wife HK/Rah (29), their son AM/Naf (3), plus the in-laws MK/Mus (58 ) and his wife, NM/Nen (54). Also joining them were additional relatives: OM (58 ), Mrs. OM (48 ), FM (29), as well as ChM, residents of Lorong Kembang, Gogagoman Village. War's wife prepared and cooked the chickens with the help of ChM. (ChM may have been the employee War mentioned had fallen ill, and the unrelated individual).

Remarkably, on Saturday, 9/3, War's wife Nur (54) and ChM headed over to the doctor's office where they ran into the son and daughter-in-law, AF (31) and his pregnant wife Rah (29), who were suffering from the same sickness.

With 11 people symptomatic for flu, and the confirmation of H5N1 in War's chickens, the family headed to the hospital. At around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, 9/4, the first hospital, Regional Public Hospital Datuk (Datoe) Binangkang in Kotamobagu City, decided to reconcile the entire lot of patients over to RSUP Prof Kandou in Manado where they arrived around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, 9/4.

Several samples have been taken from the 11 suspect H5N1 patients which were sent to Jakarta and the regional labs for testing. Samples were taken upon admission and subsequent samples have also been taken. Now they wait for the post-Tamiflu results to be returned

9/11: Bird Flu in Poultry spreading to Balaang Mongondow on Friday (9/9/11). In District Lolayan. 20 chickens died suddenly in village of South Tanoyan.

Adm: 9/2 – intensive care

Hospital: RSUP Dr Sardjito, Ward Kartika

Onset: 9/8

9 others being strictly monitored outside hospital.

9/9: Tested Negative. Diagnosis: Severe Lung Infection.

Chief Medical Officer of Kulonprogo Lestaryono explained, although some residents of the hamlet Singgelo, Village Poncosari, Srandakan Subdistrict, Bantul District, allegedly affected by the bird flu virus, but until now the region Kulonprogo not found the same case. "No cases of bird flu," explained Lestaryono after attending a commemoration of National Sports Day (Haornas) 2011 on the square Kulonprogo, Friday (9 / 9).

Notes: Vicims neighbor had ornamental birds. In last 2 weeks 4 died.

Notes: Went often to market 200 meters from home. Many people around house kept ornamental birds.

Notes: Recovered. Around the house w/a lot of people who kept ornamental birds. Ctr. Of Vet. Bogor had taken samples of poultry, H5N1 positive.

The child accompanied her mother to the traditional market where live poultry were sold but investigations into the source of infection are ongoing.

Notes: Received extensive treatment. Week before his father’s illness, sufferers are invited to a market near his house to buy chicken and KN participated by holding the chicken.

Notes: Both had contact with dead poultry in early October. Chickens in patients home tested negative. Same with the neighbor’s chickens. “Based on the results of rapid tests on chickens that died or live in the home patients were negative. Similar results were also shown by the examination of dead chickens in his neighbor's house. For a more accurate examination, two chickens that died at home the patient was then taken to the Central Veterinary, Pegok, Denpasar.”

Hospital: Bangli Sanglah

Notes: Escaped. Found at home. Not re-admitted. Bloodwork done on the 15th indicated negative for H5N1. Mostly likely taking tamiflu since her children were admitted into hospital (10/7).
Sym’s: Cough, shortness of breath. Blood platelets decreased dramatically. In “pain”. They don’t know exactly what she has as they haven’t done a thorough examination of her blood.

DOD: 10/17 (at home)

Confirmation: Negative. Blood was drawn while she was in the hospital visiting her son in early Oct. (that was confirmed & died). Lab Biomolecular Research Lab University of Udayana and MOH
