Indonesia: NTB and Birdflu H5N1 Human Cases Won't Be Exposed

We reported an article earlier here, which spoke of a denial of bird flu patients at their hospital. From the article:
Director of the Provincial General Hospital (Dr) NTB, dr. H. Mawardi Hamri, denied, the issue of bird flu patients are being treated there. Since the year 2009, there were no patients were affected by the H5N1 virus in NTB. Formerly there were patients who had isolated in special rooms, for allegedly affected suspect bird flu. But after the blood test, he was declared negative, so it sent back.


"If there are patients in suspected bird flu virus, then the Dr will immediately respond and provide services in accordance with Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) of bird flu. NTB RSUP ready to serve whenever the bird flu patients, "said dr. H. Mawardi Hamri, accompanied by Head of Medical Services and Support, dr. H. L. Hamzi F, told reporters in his office on Friday (14/10).


Naturally, the patients will test negative, because as part of the Standard Office Procedure, they will put them on Tamiflu as soon as they spot the very first symptom of bird flu, H5N1.

He said, every patient who entered the department of NTB will be watched carefully especially those showing symptoms of bird flu, such as high fever, respiratory and abdominal complaints.

Patients with symptoms will be immediately given the antiviral drugs H5N1 or type of drug that can inhibit the replication of neuramidase (neuramidase inhibitors), such as Oseltamivir (tamiflu) and zanamivir.
