NTB RSUP Denies Bird Flu There Patients

Director of the Provincial General Hospital (Dr) NTB, dr. H. Mawardi Hamri, denied, the issue of bird flu patients are being treated there. Since the year 2009, there were no patients were affected by the H5N1 virus in NTB. Formerly there were patients who had isolated in special rooms, for allegedly affected suspect bird flu. But after the blood test, he was declared negative, so it sent back.


"If there are patients in suspected bird flu virus, then the Dr will immediately respond and provide services in accordance with Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) of bird flu. NTB RSUP ready to serve whenever the bird flu patients, "said dr. H. Mawardi Hamri, accompanied by Head of Medical Services and Support, dr. H. L. Hamzi F, told reporters in his office on Friday (14/10).

Mawardi said, RSUP is one designated RS Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) a referral hospital patients of bird flu since the year 2009. Response Team has been set up SARS, Bird Flu and Swine Flu chaired by dr. Salim and the 10-member specialist doctors.

"RSUP also been equipped with special tools for bird flu patients are imported directly from Kemenkes. Minister of Health has not revoked the status of Indonesia as a country suspect bird flu, so it must continue diwaspadi, "he added.

For people with bird flu patients continued Mawardi, has prepared three special space in the living room floor 2 RSUP NTB flamboyant. Where, an isolation room, a treatment room and 1 room attendant. One room can accommodate 4 patients. Entering the space it should use the tools of coatings, both patients, doctors and nurses.

"The general public or patients' families were not allowed to enter the space. But if it should go, then it must comply with applicable SOP.
