HK: Suspected H7 case reported

The Centre for Health Protection has received notification of one case fulfilling the reporting criteria of suspected human cases of Influenza A (H7), and five cases which did not fulfil the criteria. All have tested negative for H7.

The case fulfilling the criteria involves a nine-year-old girl who had visited Jiangsu and was exposed to poultry. She is stable in Prince of Wales Hospital.

The update covers noon yesterday to noon today.

It brings the total number of notifications received by the centre since March 31 of cases fulfilling the reporting criteria to nine, and those which did not fulfil the criteria to 19.

No confirmed human cases of H7N9 have been recorded in Hong Kong so far.
