Hong Kong Authorities Meet w/Tourism Ind. to Increase Port Surveillance

 Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development Gregory So, and Food and Department of Health Secretary Ko Wing Man today (April 8) at the Government Headquarters of human infection with influenza A H7N9 cases monitoring measures with the tourism industry representatives met.    In view of the frequent travelers entering or leaving Hong Kong, the participants in the meeting to discuss strengthening the notification mechanism for monitoring influenza A H7N9, especially close to the mainland from April 29 to May 1 Labour Day holiday period. Authorities and has been in all the ports in to strengthen body temperature detection and monitoring, and has stepped up in various ports of the broadcast, so the arrival and departure passengers informed of the latest.    Participants include Peter Lam, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Director-General of the HKTB Anthony Lau, Michael Wu, Chairman of the Hong Kong Travel Industry Council, Joseph Tung, Director-General of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong Hotel Owners Federation Executive Director of Lee in Seoul. Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Philip Yung, food and Deputy Secretary-General of the Department of Health Bureau of Miss Janice Tse, Deputy Director of the Department of Health (DH), Cindy Lai, also participated in the meeting.
